A few ways to keep informed

Along with the thousands of blogs, rss feeds, etc. that are available, there are some portals for library/bibliographic resources that can be very helpful in staying informed.

http://digilink.digibib.net/wk/links.pl

An excellent list of all things related to research but particularly good for library catalogs of all kinds.  This site includes one of the few access points for a listing of scanned card catalogs.

http://www.librarytechnology.org/libwebcats/

An old standby for librarians.  However it is not the most well maintained of sites.

REESWeb has established itself as a basic source for North American resources in the field.  Their coverage of library resources is quite good and includes extremely helpful materials for transliteration along with the usual set of links to catalogs.

UNESCO portal to libraries.  Again an array of resources that should not be overlooked by the researcher.
