Research Tools and Resources
Library website: The Music and Performing Arts Library website is your gateway to all of the tools you need for research.
Library catalog: Use the Library catalog to discover books, scores, recordings, DVDs, journals, and other materials held by the University Libraries.
Course Reserves: If your professor has put items on reserve for your course, you can find electronic print (book chapters and articles) and audio reserves here and items physically on reserve in the library (books, scores, CDs, DVDs) here.
I-Share and WorldCat: To find and obtain items that we don't own here at Illinois, first search the I-Share Catalog, and then, if necessary, the WorldCat catalog, and then place an I-Share or InterLibrary Loan request for the item.
Online Research Resources (ORR): The ORR is a tool that will help you find all of the online resources available to you for research, from article databases (to find individual journal articles), to online journals, to online listening resources, to online playscripts, to reference tools, and more.
For more information about appropriate resources for your research questions, please see the Music and Performing Arts Library website's Research Resources area [coming soon!].
RefWorks: If you are working on a longer research project, or are working on multiple projects at once, you may wish to use the RefWorks citation management software for keeping track of all of your citation and footnote/bibliography information.
Remote Access: All of these resources are available to you off-campus if you login using your NetID and password.
