Topic Overview

There is much debate over the minimum legal drinking age of 21. Some believe that the drinking age should be lowered to 18 because an 18 year old is considered an adult in all other aspects of the law. They are able to vote, join the military, adopt children, pilot an airplane, etc. Supporters of a "21" drinking age cite the lower instances of fatal accidents involving young drivers and alcohol as the reason to keep the current age limit.
