The following Internet sites have been reviewed and recommended by the
Undergraduate Library as credible academic resources for this topic. Keep in
mind that the following web sites may offer biased information.
Web Links
- Center for Media and Public Affairs - This a non-paritsan organization, it is not affiliated with any political party. This group performs scientific studies of news and entertainment media. They "study the important role the media plays in communicating information about health risks and scientific issues." They provide an "empirical basis for debates over media fairness and impact through well documented, timely, and readable studies of media content.
- Project for Excellence in Journalism - This site is a joint effort by the Project for Excellence in Journalism and the Committee of Concerned Journalists. It is part of an "initiative by journalists to clarify and raise they standards of American journalism." It is part of the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. The website is for anyone interested in journalism and not for journalists alone.
- Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting - This site belongs to a national media watch group. They advocate greater diversity in the press. They are also an anti-censorship organization.
- Accuracy in Media - This a non-profit watchdog group with critiques inaccurate news reports. The organization "encourages members of the media to report the news fairly and objectively—without resorting to bias or partisanship."
