Topic Overview

The scope of the topics of stem cell research and cloning is broad and complex. Before you start your research, think about which aspect of stem cell research and cloning on which you want to focus. Stem cell research can be performed using human cells — adult or embryonic — and animal cells. Cloning, which involves transferring genetic material between human or animal cells, also relates to stem cell research. Therapeutic cloning, in fact, is interchangeable with certain stem cell research regarding embryonic stem cells. Both stem cell research and cloning are two related topics that continue to generate debates and discussion as technology advances further.
