Staff at the International & Area Studies Library are ready to help you find resources and answer reference questions related to your research needs.  Contact us at or visit Room 321 Main Library from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm, Monday through Thursday; 9:00 am through 5:00 pm on Friday;  and 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm Saturday and Sunday.



Resources in all formats, from all time periods

Arabic-language collections at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign range from rare early printed works to archival materials to microfilms to cutting-edge databases, online newspapers, and current periodicals.  The print collection consists of over 55,000 volumes, with particular strengths in Arabic language and literature, modern and medieval history, Islamic religion, Islamic law, politics and government in the Arab-speaking world, and the social sciences in general.  This guide is intended to serve as a basic introduction to the Library's Arabic resources.
