Volition, Inc. is a video game developer for consoles and Windows-based PCs.

Volition is located in Champaign, Illinois.

The company was created when Parallax split into two closely affiliated companies, Volition Inc. and Outrage Entertainment.

With Interplay Entertainment as a publisher, Volition, Inc. developed the FreeSpace series of space simulation computer games.

Volition, Inc. was acquired by THQ in August 2000.  

Volition has over 230 people on staff, and continues to grow.
