  • CWLA (Child Welfare League of America) – This organization’s highest mission is to ensure the safety and well-being of children and families. They advocate for the advancement of public policy, set and promote the standards for best practice. They have a section on homelessness of children.
  • The United States Interagency Council on Homelessness - Congress established the Interagency Council on Homelessness in 1987 with the passage of the Stewart B. McKinney Homeless Assistance Act. The Council is responsible for providing Federal leadership for activities to assist homeless families and individuals. This site provides recent governmental action against homelessness.
  • The National Alliance to End Homelessness - This is a nonpartisan, mission-driven organization committed to preventing and ending homelessness in the United States. This site provides information about homelessness and how to prevent it. It also has separate sections about different homeless focus groups: i.e. veterans, youth, ect.
  • The National Health Care for the Homeless (HCH) Council - This is a group for those who work to improve the health of homeless people and who seek housing, health care, and adequate incomes for everyone. Focuses on health care for the homeless.
  • National Law Center on Homelessness & Poverty - The mission of this group is to prevent and end homelessness by serving as the legal arm of the nationwide movement to end homelessness. Focuses on legal issues surrounding homelessness.
